Original Design Proposal: I would like to design a logo that could be used on my website, watermark photographs, and used on business cards. I would want it to be versatile, meaning it can be used in multiple forms (black, white, color), and possibly have a mini and full-size version. I’d want it to be sophisticated, modern, and simple. It may speak to my photography, interest in design, or simply my name. I want it to not look standardized and have a bit of edge to it. I’ve toyed with ideas for a logo, but have not yet settled on one. I’ve gone through iterations of my initials (SL) intertwined together and SLOUIE PHOTOGRAPHY stacked on top of each other. I’d imagine some form of my name will be incorporated into the final logo. I’d really like to create a final logo that can be showcased and mark my work.
Final Design Concept: I went through several iterations on how to design my name, but I decided to keep it stylistically simple by not attempting to create type font, but manipulating the letters to showcase my interests and personality. I used photoshop to design my logo.
- The letters “S” and “L” are kept as is because these are my initials and stand out
- “O” is a lens representing my interest in photography. It is the most colorful since I am first and foremost a photographer. I chose to use variations of blue to keep it relatively simple, but standout.
- “U” represents my interest in design
- “I” represents my interest in video and stories
- “E” represents my strength in editing and modifying
Below are three iterations of my logo:
